Biography

Jim started
his career in the Plumbing & Heating business at the age of fourteen. A 1967
graduate of E.C. Goodwin Technical School, he began his apprenticeship at The C.
A. Hjerpe Co in New Britain Connecticut. Jim stayed with the Hjerpe family
untill they closed their doors in December of 1978. He started his company in
January 1979 and has enjoyed continues success ever since. Jim holds the current
licenses for the State of Connecticut; P-1 for Plumbing, S-5 for Heating, F-1
for Fire Protection and HIC. for home improvement. He has been a member of the
Connecticut and National chapters of the Plumbing Heating and Cooling
Contractors Association. since 1980. Jim has served as the association's State
president in 1987 and is currently serving on their board of directors. In 1996
he received the State Association's Contractor of the year award. Jim is
currently serving on the State of Connecticut Plumbing & Piping Work Examing Board where he was appointed
by Governor Rowland. He also serving as a commissioner for the Town of Berlin
Water Control Commission. Jim resides in Berlin with his wife Janice and their two
children Jamie and Michael. In his spare time Jim enjoys volunteering for
the Berlin Volunteer Fire Dept. where he has held the rank of Lieutenant and is
currently serving as their treasurer.
